Associate Executive Director, Straight & Narrow 

Hours: This position is considered full time, flexible, with evenings and weekend hours as needed.

Location: Paterson, NJ

General Summary: 

The Associate Executive Director of Straight and Narrow is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and planning for the agency, within the umbrella corporation of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Paterson. The Associate Executive Director is expected to be an active participant of the Straight & Narrow Senior Management Team and to work cooperatively with the Executive Director. The Associate Executive Director is expected to participate in all Executive Team meetings with the Executive Director. The Associate Executive Director is expected to: assure the fulfillment of the Mission of the agency; provide leadership and administrative to supervision to agency staff, related departments to ensure continued operations along with persons being served; serve as a role model of enthusiastic servant-leadership with a professional approach and demeanor; utilize creative thinking. planning and implementation around the services the agency provides; assure compliance with agency licensure, regulatory and funding requirements; maintain agency accreditation; represent the agency and its Mission to federal, state and local funding sources and to the community at large. Predominant qualities expected of the Associate Executive Director include commitment to the organizational mission; dynamism; assertiveness; strong leadership and executive management skills; professional approach and demeanor.

Qualifications:

  • A graduate or post-graduate degree in not-for-profit management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Services, Clinical Counseling, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Ten years’ experience working in the field in which this agency serves the community in addiction recovery treatment, and at least five of which shall be in a supervisory and/or leadership role.
  • Documented leadership, budgetary and management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including planning, delegating, program development, etc.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, transferable to relationships with CEO, Board, staff, volunteers, donors and the public.
  • Licenses Preferred (LPC, LCSW, LCADC and LMFT)
  • Must meet physical, fingerprint and drug test requirements.

Experience

Qualifications:
