The Malawi eVisa is the official electronic visa application system operated by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services. Travelers can create an account, complete the online application, upload passport and travel documents, pay the applicable fee by card, and wait for immigration review. Once approved, the eVisa approval letter can be accessed through the applicant account and is also sent through an email notification. Travelers should download and print the approval document and present it at the port of entry together with the passport used for the application. Malawi currently states that eVisa applications are processed within three working days. Since February 24, 2026, certain Category Two nationals may also obtain visas on arrival, but applying online in advance is strongly encouraged.
