American Habitare and Counseling, Inc. is hiring for Licensed Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counselors!

We are an OTP with a holistic approach, utilizing counseling, co-occurring specialists, and medical staff to provide our patients with the best care. AHC provides both Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient services.

Responsibilities of the Substance Abuse/Mental Health Counselors include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provides individual and group counseling to clients utilizing evidenced-based treatment for the SUD population;
• Conducts thorough and comprehensive assessments that identifies the individualized strengths, barriers and needs of each client served
• Develop personalized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals; updating treatment plans regularly
• Help clients develop the necessary skills and behaviors to recover from their addiction as well as strategies to prevent relapse
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Completes all required documentation ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, state regulations
• Collaborate with in house healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients
• Meets for weekly group supervision and individual supervision on a regular basis and complies with regulations set forth by the appropriate Division of Consumer Affairs professional licensing board.
• Demonstrates sufficient comprehension of the 12 core functions of a counselor

Experience with NJSAMS is preferred.
